Day 04 - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
My all-time favourite film, and Adam Brody’s too (this must mean we were meant for each other). I can’t count the amount of times I’ve seen this film and each time I watch it, I see something new or come to a new realisation. It is film at its best, pure art and is simple yet so complex at the same time. I see myself in both the main characters, Clementine’s spontaneity, her hot-headedness, her unusual habits and her insecurities, Joel’s quiet restlessness, his solid heart and fears.
The way it is filmed is unusual and so very clever and I love how it can make you feel sad or happy depending on when you watch it and what you take from it. It demonstrates Kate Winslet and Jim Carey’s acting skills, how they both play roles they are not accustomed to which I think is refreshing.
